An effective hearing test that measures your threshold of hearing for sounds of different frequencies.
Find out just how far your ears can hear ranging frequencies.
Most of the people should be able to hear up to around 15kHz. From around 17kHz upwards, we get into a range that only the under 20s can hear.
General:
The human auditory system is sensitive to a wide range of sounds, both in terms of frequency (pitch) and intensity (loudness).The lowest sound (in pitch) we can typically hear is about 20 Hz, and the highest sound 20KHz. However, we are not all equally sensitive with all differing frequencies.
Features:
• With this version, you will test your frequency threshold, using static volume tones.
• Using the iPhone headphones, you will be asked to adjust the iPhone volume, for clear and effective playback tones.
• Your left and right ear will be tested alternately with every frequency, from the above frequency ranges.
• After the test has been completed, you will get a report of your hearing frequency response.
• History module lets you save your tests

Very good app but important frequencies lack : 250,1500,3000,4000,6000 hz_Why?
Great application. Easy, slick interface. I reviewed together with a technician servicing and calibrating my in-office audiometer.
What is missing to make it five stars and really useful are dB (decibel) levels for all the frequencies. A larger result layout would also help. Now make this email enabled and you got it.

Looks like version 1.1 is latest and saving will be available starting with version 2. So go out and buy this app so we get the free upgrade quickly!!!
Ability to save results would be good. (Aging affects memory as well as hearing. ;)
Some bad moments
Badly done and, having to sit through a redundant range of frequencies that you can obviously hear. Samples click at start and end leading some to think they heard a high frequencu sample. The $0.99 price is too high, this should be free.
well the authors should add the decibels level tested for each sound and add the possibility to obtain a graph, just like the normal ear-nose-throat specialist audiometric test.
otherwise this app will be quite useless... please take a look at the real audiometric test and try to make something similar
If you ever wondered if you have, for example, a high frequency hearing loss, this app wont be of any value. This program would be over priced if it were free. That said, someone put a very small effort into it, but anything other than free would be grossly overvaluing it. In fact its use might lead you to believe that you dont have a hearing problem, when it fact you do. All the app does is play a series of tones at, presumably the same level. To me, its value is knowing that I saved others from wasting .99
It is not well designed test. You easily can cheat or be mistaken with different sounds. Also confirmations before each test are annoying .
This app is fairly useless as a hearing test. Entertaining but useless. I have patients that wear hearing aids that could "pass" this as a hearing test. I tested it against my calibrated audiometer and most of the sounds are signficantly louder than the levels used for a hearing screeening. Hows your hearing? Ask an audiologist.
This is fine as far as it goes but if the volume slider had a db meter to test at different db levels it would be perfect. Normal hearing is from 0 to 20 db on the audiogram. This would be neat. And finally if it would show a graph of your hearing it would be fantastic!!
